Huge congratulations to Thais Sasso Lopes for being awarded the Ecological Society of Australia's Student Research Grant valued at $1,440! Thais plans to use the funds to perform critical pilot surveys for her amphibian chytridiomycosis study investigating community and landscape-level drivers of population recovery of Fleay's barred frog (Mixophyes fleayi) across its distributional range. ASH & SRARNZ conference 2018!
Over the last few days several members of our team (Laura Grogan, Mariel Familiar Lopez and Thais Sasso Lopes) attended the combined meeting of the Australian Society of Herpetologists and the Society for Research on Amphibians and Reptiles in New Zealand, held at Kindilan Camp, Redland Bay, Queensland, Australia. It was a great conference with an impressive selection of research presented in two parallel sessions over 2.5 days. Below are the abstracts from our team members.

First eDNA sampling pilot!
Thais, PhD candidate in our Frog Research Team ran her first official pilot survey for her PhD project in the last couple of days! Here are three of the intrepid explorers (Laura took the photo), Thais, Liam and Kaitlyn of the red boots (our generous volunteer)!
