Members of our team have been accepted for both oral presentations and poster presentations at various upcoming conferences!

The Ecology & Evolution of Infectious Diseases (EEID) Conference will be held May 26-29, 2015 at the Classic Center in Athens, Georgia (link).

  1. Mr. Nicholas Clark will be giving an oral presentation at EEID, with the title: "Biogeographical variation in blood parasite coinfections (avian malaria and microfilaria) in congeneric island birds: a mosaic of parasite-mediated selection?" (Authors: Nicholas J Clark, Sonya M Clegg).

  2. Dr. Jaewoon Jeong will be presenting a poster at EEID "Modelling transmission dynamics of a novel Alphacoronavirus in an Australian population of large-footed myotis (Myotis macropus)".

  3. Mr. John Giles will be presenting a poster at EEID.

  4. Prof. Hamish McCallum will be presenting a poster at EEID.

The Wildlife Disease Association's (WDA) annual International Conference will be held July 26-30, 2015 at Novotel Twin Waters resort in the Sunshine Coast, QLD, Australia (link).

  1. Assistant Professor Raina Plowright will be a Plenary Speaker at the WDA: "Spillover: dynamics of cross-species transmission".

  2. Dr. Jaewoon Jeong will be giving an oral presentation at WDA: "Modelling transmission dynamics of a novel Alphacoronavirus in an Australian population of large-footed myotis (Myotis macropus)".

  3. Mr. John Giles will be giving an oral presentation at WDA: "Determining the role of fruit bat population dynamics in the emergence of Hendra virus in Australia".

  4. Dr. Laura Grogan will be giving an oral presentation at WDA: "Evolution of resistance to chytridiomycosis is associated with a robust early immune response in a wild amphibian" (Authors: Laura F.
