Careers in science talks at Cavendish Road State High School!
Two members of our team (Dr. Laura Grogan and Elle Stephenson) recently attended Cavendish Road State High School in Holland Park, QLD on 4th October, 2016, to talk to a great bunch of high-achieving year 11 Biology students about careers in science!

The class attend the course off-campus (convened by Environmental Futures Research Institute member, Dr. Sarah Ashmore, and taught by Stacey Hollis), which is equivalent to a first semester first year Biology course, and students who complete the course gain direct entry to Griffith University and get credit for the equivalent on-campus course. They are currently studying animal diversity and were interested to get to know some animal researchers.

Laura and Elle each gave enthusiastic presentations covering their career paths to date, current research projects, advice for students thinking about university subjects and potential future careers in science.
It was a great opportunity for community involvement and the students were very engaged and asked many questions!
